Shipping Assistant

Job Summary

·         Act as backup to Shipping Supervisor, as needed. This requires the review of the Backlog Summary report, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.

·         Addresses errors and complaints about the shipping department.

·         Responsible for Daily Ship List disbursement.

·         Dispatches carriers.

·         Packs parts and prepares packaging for shipment.

·         Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies Maintenance Supervisor for repairs.

·         Ensures that all ISO9001 procedures are being followed according to the requirements of the job description.

Skills and Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
